ABPANC is excited to announce significant improvements to the practice examination program. As of 11 Aug 2015, there are four 50-question exam forms available for candidates. Each exam has a unique set of questions and was created according to ABPANC’s test blueprint. The questions you will see are designed to be representative of the types of questions seen on the actual CPAN® and CAPA® Examinations. ABPANC has also reinstated the popular BOGO program. You may now receive one free exam for every exam you purchase! With the BOGO promotion, you can now get 100 questions for $50 dollars, or 200 questions for $100!
The practice examinations are tools to assess your strengths and weaknesses regarding your perianesthesia knowledge base. After each question, you will learn if you answered the question correctly and will be able to view reference information supporting the correct answer. You will have 3.3 hours (200 minutes) to take and review each practice examination.
The score report that you will receive at the conclusion of the practice examination will provide you with a second chance to review the reference information for each question. It will also include feedback about your performance on the practice examination. You will receive a scaled score on overall performance, just like with the actual CPAN® and CAPA® certification examinations. The passing scaled score is 450. You will also be provided with domain level feedback that you may use to focus your study efforts as you design a study plan.
ABPANC is excited to offer 3.67 contact hours to candidates who successfully complete a CPAN© and/or CAPA© practice examination. You may receive contact hours once for taking the CPAN practice examination and once for taking the CAPA practice examination. This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the Ohio Nurses Association (OBN-001-91), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Practice examinations are a tool to assess strengths and weaknesses. They are not intended to serve as a study guide nor should they be used as a substitute for studying. Success on a practice examination does not guarantee success on the certification examination. That is, a passing score on the practice examination does not guarantee a passing score on the actual CPAN® or CAPA® certification examination.
